News for the Heart: Tom Campbell: Judgment to Love
Laurie Huston from News for the Heart is talking with physicist Tom Campbell on Judgment to Love. We discussed the unfortunate incident regarding the Dalai Lama and “Blow on my Face” or “Suck on my Tongue”. This incident is very controversial and many people have differing opinions ranging from anger to love. Tom brought up the three factors he believes were the issue.
The first being people are insecure and have fear. Judging others helps them feel better about themselves.
The Second is that we thrive on bringing down people we view as ‘better’ than us. In this case the Dalai Lama is considered one of the most compassionate and evolved people in the world. To Judge allows us to bring them down to our level. It helps us see that those who are above us can become our equal.
The third part that added to this sensationalism, is that we are hyper aware of children’s rights. Tom shared an example in the 80’s when there was almost a hysteria about child abuse. Tom’s daughter ate strawberries and had a terrible allergic reaction. Think Will Smith in Hitch. When she was brought into emergency, the doctors questioned whether there was child abuse. We show a vulnerability to how children are treated.
These three factors created quite the media frenzy. I wanted to explore why we Judge and how we can BE Love instead. Join us for this fascinating discussion! We’re Getting to the Heart of what Matters!
